making space

My name’s Kate. Over six years ago I became a mummy. My life massively changed! I left my career, fell madly in love and started the biggest learning curve of my life.

Is He Trying to Teach You Something?

Parenthood is full of seasons, many good, others hard and we can feel stuck in them for what seems like an eternity and yet suddenly in a moment they have passed. One such season is that of discipline. Over the last few years we have seen particular seasons where discipline has been needed more than others. Times where it seemed our son was testing the boundaries at almost every opportunity, ...

Last time

How could I have missed it? I was feeling so unwell but still how could I miss the last time. That precious moment that I can never, ever get back. I felt genuinely sad. It made me wonder, had I missed other precious 'last time' moments without even realising it and what else are we currently walking through that may also be the last time.

Catching The Moment

That morning after my beautiful daughter was born was incredible. I wish I could have boxed up those feelings of pure joy and kept them so I could relive that moment again and again. Just the three of us, no demands, no interruptions; a chance to simply delight in our new baby girl. I was reminded then just how important it is to catch each precious moment. To stop and breathe in those treasures ...

Walls fell

A few years ago I went through something really tough. Every time I prayed asking God for wisdom on how to walk through this difficult season He would remind me of His promises. Promises of things changing and me seeing victory in my situation and yet when I asked Him how to walk through to this victory one word would come back to me time after time - worship.

Tantrum

I find this whole parenting job fascinating. Some days it's a breeze, our children respond instantly to our reminders and warnings about behaviour. They are fun and loving and it all just feels easy, like we're finally getting on top of this parenting thing. And then other days... well you feel like it's an endless cycle of setting boundaries and them being crossed, crying out to God for wisdom, ...

Rest Here

About a year ago I started feeling extremely tired, more than that, exhausted. My son was sleeping brilliantly and had been for months, but I felt exhausted. I would sleep well and wake up tired. I would do things in the day and by the time I got home at lunchtime to put Jonas down for his nap, I would struggle to muster up the energy to walk up the stairs, let alone do any of the chores I needed ...

Contented Mummy?

I want to tell any mothers-to-be reading this one piece of advice, which had I known would have saved me a lot of false expectations that came crashing down after I had my boy. You don't have to love every single part of motherhood to be a great mum, and what's more, you certainly won't love every part!

Xxx

Before I became a mummy I loved my career, I loved my job and the satisfaction that came from completing massive projects, or the sense of achievement from getting that promotion. I had worked hard to get to the place. Yet I left. This was not because I have no ambition when it comes to career. Not because it was an easy option. Not because I just didn’t have to work financially. But because we ...

Sleepy Time

For all those mummies out there that are feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and stuck forever, I know only too well how you are feeling but you need to know one thing, it's a phase, and IT WILL PASS!
